Who is Peak Krav Maga?

Welcome to our site! My name is Jake Abendschan, and I am an instructor at Peak Krav Maga. I started Krav Maga with over seventeen years of martial arts experience. My journey began with folk style wrestling and moved into freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling into my college years. I began training in full contact karate in college, earned a black belt in the Enshin Karate system and trained in other systems such as Kempo, Silat and submission grappling.

I have worked for the Sheriff's Office for six years and I am a lead instructor for the Office's Arrest Control Program. Those roles lead me to Krav Maga as we were looking for a system that would be effective for law enforcement officers with limited training time. It quickly became obvious that Krav Maga was the perfect system. I believe it is the most realistic, easy to learn discipline in the world. The training methods are without equal in the martial arts community.

As a husband, father and active member of my community, I believe this is a system everyone should have an opportunity to train in. We live in a dangerous and unpredictable world, and it is the citizen's and local law enforcement that are most likely to deal with the threats we face. I invite you to come in and try a Krav Maga class, I am sure you will be as impressed as I was.

Welcome to Peak Krav Maga:

Jake and I were looking for a system which would help our fellow deputies get in shape and give them a realistic, aggressive self defense, fighting and defensive tactics program. We found it at Colorado Krav Maga in Broomfield under James Hiromasa. We believe in this system and feel its excellent for law enforcement.

In addition to Krav Maga, I also study and instruct Chinese Kempo and hold a black belt in this system.

I have trained in several law enforcement systems and I am a certified instructor in:

• PPCT
• FBI Defensive tactics
• Controlled Force
• Koga
• Krav Maga Series 1 & 3

I currently sit on the POST board for the state of Colorado as one of several subject matter experts in law enforcement defensive tactics. Jake and I share the duties of coordinator for the Sheriff's Office defensive tactic program.

Our goal in teaching is that each person will improve their awareness and be more confident in the areas of self-defense, physical fitness, and personal values.
